Last updated September 7, 2026. What we collect, why, and how you can control it.
1. Overview
This policy covers ATKuniverse (atkuniverse.com), operated by Asante Theophilus Koranteng — referred to here as “we,” “us,” or “ATKuniverse.” It explains what information we collect when you use the site, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
By using ATKuniverse, you agree to the collection and use of information in line with this policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site.
2. Information we collect
Account information. When you sign up, we collect your name and email address. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile photo from Google instead of setting a password. If you sign up directly, your password is stored as a one-way hash — we never see or store your actual password.
Profile details. Anything you choose to add to your profile, like a display name or avatar you upload.
Community activity. Posts, comments, reactions, chat messages, and resources you create or share inside communities, along with basic metadata like when they were posted.
Purchases and enrollments. Records of what you’ve bought or enrolled in (product, price, date, status), and your course progress. We don’t collect or store your card details — those are handled directly by our payment processors, described below.
Notification data. If you enable push notifications, your browser generates a subscription (an endpoint and a pair of encryption keys) that we store so we can send notifications to that device. You can disable this at any time from Command Center → Settings → Preferences.
Messages you send us. Anything submitted through the contact form or newsletter sign-up.
Technical information. Standard request data our hosting infrastructure logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) for security and reliability purposes.
3. How we use your information
- To create and maintain your account, and let you sign in.
- To process purchases, grant course/product access, and provide customer support.
- To run the community features — posts, chat, resources, moderation.
- To send transactional messages (order confirmations, password resets) and, if you’ve opted in, push notifications and newsletter emails.
- To keep the site secure, prevent abuse, and enforce our Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.
- To understand how the site is used, so we can improve it.
6. Push notifications
Push notifications are entirely opt-in — nothing is sent unless you explicitly enable them for a device. Once enabled, you can choose which types you get (new chat messages, feed posts, new resources) from Command Center → Settings → Preferences, mute an individual community from that community’s own settings, or disable notifications on that device entirely at any time. Disabling deletes the stored subscription for that device.
7. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active, or as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. If you delete your account, we remove your personal information within a reasonable time, except where we’re required to retain records (for example, transaction records for tax purposes).
8. Your rights and choices
- You can review and update your name and avatar from Command Center → Settings → Profile.
- You can control notification preferences from Command Center → Settings → Preferences, and per-community from that community’s settings.
- You can unsubscribe from newsletter emails using the link in any newsletter email.
- You can request a copy of your data, or ask us to delete your account and associated personal information, by contacting us.
9. Children's privacy
ATKuniverse isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we’ll remove it.
10. Data security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information — passwords are hashed, connections are encrypted, and access to production data is limited. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your information appropriately.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we’ll update the “Last updated” date above, and where appropriate, let you know more directly.
12. Contact us
